The R.I.S.E. program, managed by NAS, provides high school students interested in the sports business with experiential learning opportunities that benefit their own athletic programs and offer exposure to a unique educational platform. Through these experiences, students are able to build their resume to apply for college or find a job after graduation.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN?
High schools and school districts are always looking for ways to produce more content for their schools and student-athletes, so what better way than to get the students involved who are attending local sporting events every day. Whether its capturing photos, writing articles, editing film, or interviewing coaches there’s something for every student interested in media. Not to mention, the work produced by our students is published online via the district website and social media which allows them to start creating portfolios they can use later in life to find a job, or apply to college, post-graduation.
There are so many pieces that go in to making an event, game, or fundraiser successful. From ticket sales to sponsorship packages, it’s important for students to understand all the opportunities available in the sports marketing industry. Our program introduces students to these opportunities through networking events and site visits at many of the premier sports venues in the Charlotte area. Then, students can take this knowledge back to their school and start implementing new tactics to help improve the athletic experience for their community.
It’s all in the numbers! Stats and analytics are becoming an increasingly popular field of study for both students and coaches. The data allows them to predict trends and improve overall performance throughout the season. Our students, with the help of industry professionals, will learn how to collect stats for a variety of sports while also analyzing those numbers and reporting their results.
