Charlotte, N.C. – The Alliance Sportsmanship Foundation is excited to announce that the Hendrick Automotive Group will be the title sponsor of the first annual Queen City Senior Bowl, a community experience established to create a memorable and rewarding week for many of the best high school football players and coaches in Charlotte, N.C. The game will be played on Saturday, December 21 at the Sportsplex in Matthews, N.C. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. In addition to the game being a platform for student-athletes to showcase their unique athletic talent, there is a strong emphasis on giving back to the community.
“The Hendrick Automotive Group is literally putting us in the driver’s seat with this partnership. We are overjoyed to have their support for the inaugural Queen City Senior Bowl,” says Damon White, Co-Founder of the Alliance Sportsmanship Foundation. “The Queen City Senior Bowl is one of the first programs established by the foundation.”
“The Alliance Sportsmanship Foundation and Hendrick Automotive Group share a passion to make a positive impact in the community. The foundation seeks to enhance the exposure of Charlotte high school football, showcase the extraordinary talents of these young men, and aggrandize the role athletics play in developing our future leaders. This is the type of energy we need to bring us all together to foster goodwill within our community through the support of local charities.”
The event will designate one local charity to support each year. Select proceeds from the 2019 Hendrick Automotive Group Queen City Senior Bowl will be donated to the Metro School, a community that serves 250 students all of whom are cognitively disabled. The school’s mission is to provide a comprehensive, personally relevant educational environment while challenging each student to develop his or her abilities, skills, and talents.
“We are proud to partner with the Alliance Sportsmanship Foundation for the 2019 Hendrick Automotive Group Queen City Senior Bowl,” said Ed Brown, President and CEO at Hendrick Automotive Group. “Charlotte has provided our company with so many opportunities, and it’s important to give back whenever we can. The game is a terrific way to spotlight high school sports, which teach important values like teamwork, while supporting young people in our community via the Metro School. We look forward to a wonderful event.”
The Hendrick Automotive Group Queen City Senior Bowl will be televised locally on WAXN, Channel 64 and distributed nationally on ESPN3. Phil Orban, Reggie Walker, and DaShawn Brown will be the announcers for the game.
