Each year, over 500 million fans attend more than 2 million high school sporting events. They come to support the 12-plus million students who participate, representing all socio-economic backgrounds in our country.
All of these in-demand events – coupled with advances in technology – result in the creation of content that now has booming value. But at the same time, funding for athletic programs is decreasing. NAS is working with school system athletic directors to alleviate this disparity and close that gap.
It’s time to change the financial equation in high school sports, and school systems and community supporters need to learn how to lead this change. Jay Bilas explores what’s being done to fix this problem in the video below.
